EDUCATION & TRAINING
CCEI Inc. was formed exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. Specifically, the CCEI Inc. provides post secondary education and career training for the citizens of Cameron County and South Texas to prepare them to meet the needs of the current and future labor market. Additionally, CCEI Inc. intends to provide customized courses for industry specific needs in concert with strategic economic development efforts to create a local sustainable workforce capable to serve the needs of industry. Inaugural programs include Combination Welding, Medical Coding and Billing, and Information Technology. Programs will be aligned with the labor projections provided by the Texas Workforce Commission and that meet the approval of the local WIOA board (Workforce Investment Opportunity Act). Other services provided will include; career & business counseling, financial literacy, ESL courses, high school dropout recovery and retention programs and GED preparation & exam. Through the combination of charitable contributions, private and public tuition reimbursement programs and scholarships, the students are educated with no personal debt in the form of federal student loans nor will they exhaust any federal Pell grant funding they may be eligible for. Our approach meets our mission to provide the individuals of Cameron County with the specialized training and education necessary to enter, maintain and sustain an in-demand career to better provide for themselves and their loved ones.
CCEI Inc. will provide both classroom and on-line training for its students. The training and education will be delivered by a group of qualified instructors, (qualifications defined by the Texas Workforce Commission); managerial oversight is provided by the Campus Director, (qualifications defined by the Texas Workforce Commission). The Board and Executive Director comprised of education and business leaders will provide strategic direction and leadership.
CCEI Inc. will operate in a facility located in Brownsville Texas. The facility will be equipped with the following; computer and technology classrooms and labs, learning resource center, traditional didactic classrooms, tactile learning classrooms, student resource center, virtual library and administrative offices for instruction and staff. Hours of operation will be from 7a.m. to 11 p.m.
CCEI Inc. will fund operations from the initial seed donation from OP 1033 going forward CCEI Inc. will fund the operations with tuition assistance and reimbursement programs offered through the workforce investment and trade adjustment act, corporate tuition reimbursement and continued charitable contributions and donations. The Board and Executive Director will spearhead fundraising and tuition assistance activities.
